Sweet Treats
Here is a really horrible, unhealthy, but extrememly tasty recipe for cookie should you ever find yourself without an oven. I make these VERY sparingly. The recipe doesn't make too many so they don't hang around long to tempt me, but on the days when we're wanting a treat and can't run to the store I make these. Maybe once a month? There is just nothing better than the memory of your mother in her apron making these on a rainy afternoon. Anyhow, enjoy... but not too often. ;-)
NO BAKE CHOCOLATE OATMEAL COOKIES

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 cups sugar
1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup Pet milk (but I use powdered milk mixed up to this amount)
1 teaspoon vanilla (don't absolutely have to have this either)
2 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups oats
In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients except peanut butter and oats and cook over medium heat. Let boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and oats.
Spoon out quickly onto wax paper or aluminum foil. Cookies will harden as they set.
